Day Trippers

What we do

The Day Trippers group was set up in 2022 and had a very successful first year. We enjoyed visits to Penderyn Whisky Distillery, Hellens Manor, Blaenafon Ironworks, Newton House in Brecon, Llwyn Celyn and the Skirrid Inn!

In 2023 we visited the Nature in Art Museum and Gallery near Gloucester in February, the Hereford Cider Museum in April, and Sezincote House and Garden and Bourton House Garden in the Cotswolds in July. In August we had a guided tour of Llanfihangel Court and in October we visited the National Museum of Wales' Collections Centre at Nantgarw. In November we had a fascinating tour of the privately owned Trericket Mill near Erwood, then in December we rounded off another successful year with a Christmas lunch at The Horseshoes in Llangattock.

We started 2024 with a coach trip in February to the Llandysul Winter Gardening Weekend. In March, we visited Craig y Nos Castle, home to the famous opera singer Adelina Patti, for a guided tour. In May we took to the high seas (well not quite) with a coach trip to Swansea for a cruise up the river Tawe. In July we visited the National Trust Courts Garden in Holt followed by the American Museum and Gardens at Claverton Manor and in August we had a guided tour of Treowen, a Jacobean mansion house near Monmouth.
